The WIC Grocer Toolkit
The WIC Grocer Toolkit is a strategic resource developed to improve the WIC shopping experience and maximize benefit spending in Tennessee stores. Made possible through the leadership and support of the Tennessee Justice Center (TJC) and the Tennessee Grocers & Convenience Store Association (TGCSA), this project highlights actionable solutions to enhance WIC program accessibility. By focusing on staff education, promoting the WICShopper app, and improving product labeling, the toolkit addresses key challenges and aims to address gaps in education, reduce stigma, and empower both vendors and shoppers.
The collaboration underscores TGCSA's commitment to supporting public health and nutrition initiatives, ensuring more WIC dollars are spent effectively while reducing hunger and boosting economic activity in Tennessee. |
