Here are several answers to issues regarding the CVVs in Tennessee:
- 1. Split tender -- Tennessee is allowing participants to purchase over the maximum value of the CVV. They may pay the difference by cash, SNAP benefits, or other means. These forms of payment are subject to collection of sales tax except for SNAP transactions.
- 2. When a WIC shopper presents more than one CVV -- Tennessee is allowing participants to present multiple CVVs. However, the cashier must verify each one presented is for the current month, have each one correctly completed and handle each one as a separate WIC transaction through the cash register system. Therefore, this entails handling them no different than whenever two or more FIs are presented at the same time.
